    !FELIZ CUMPLEANOS CAMPEON!

    Happy birthday, Chechu!

So glad you’re riding this year.

It’s great that you’re coming to California. At Georgia last year, we thought we’d never see you on the bike again in the USA. We were sad. But now we’re happy.

Here’s to many more “last races” in America!

    Hi my friend!!!

Los demás intentaremos animarte “wherever you run”.

    Hasta pronto!!!

    Hi

Happy Birthday. What a wonderful month January is for birthdays–mine is the 18th.

Congratulations on the team success at the TDU. My husband and I attended and cheered for Astana as you rode by us.

I will look forward to seeing all of you at the TOC later this month. I live in San Jose, CA and will be able to see a few of the stages.

    Hi Nicky
You may remember me. I entered a contest and won some postcard photos of Chechu last year.

Vive Asturias! Vive Chechu!

  23. Chiqui said

Chechu, Congratulations on your great ride in the Tour of CA. I have always heard and read about how nice you are, but I proved last Tuesday at Sierra Road what an awesome chap you are. Riding in cold weather while rain is pouring and pacing a whole peloton up a steep climb is pretty hard.

But for you to make eye contact and acknowledge a fan screaming your name from the side of the road while climbing a steep road says a lot about how you truly appreciate the fan support. Some riders hardly acknowledge fans on the side of the road, which is why your simple acknowledgement on Tuesday’s stage proves what a pretty cool guy you are.

We have been longtime fans since we saw you in Postal in 2001. It was such a treat for us to watch you in California in 2008 because we thought we finally get to see you ride in person before you retired. It turned out to be an added bonus when you decide to not retire and once again ride in California this year.

More power to you. We can’t wait for your restaurant to open in Oakland. We will definitely be there as soon as it opens!

    Chechu:
